Tanarus is a free online multiplayer 3D tank shooter first person who was sold on November 30 May 1997. It was developed under the direction of John Smedley at Verant Interactive (Who has recently separated from 989 Studios) and published by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). Initially entitled Armorgeddon, Verant has been forced to change name when another game with that name was found. Tanarus was in open beta in 1996 over 1997, and quickly gained a solid by mouth-to-ear. Tanarus is now part of the Station Pass package proposed by Sony Online Entertainment which also includes Infantry and Cosmic Rift. He is now free to play and does not require payment of any kind.

Gameplay
Upon input stage, each player chooses a reservoir to operate from the five models available. The tank can then be customized through the use of various weapons and support modules. Many combinations can be used, subject to what the player wants do (capture the flags of other teams or fight, for example).
