Can I play youtube videos, run java games online or watch movies online on an Intel Atom based netbook?

I mean compared to the old standard PC or laptop, how fast are the netbooks?? Are they like a regular 2003, 2004 or 2005 laptop?? Knowing that most netbooks come with 1GB of RAM and Intel Atom. Thank you.

My wife uses a netbook with similar specifications, and can do all these things.
